Madelyn Lawrence is a Doctor of Dental Surgery candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University, expected to graduate in May 2025. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2021. A native of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a graduate of Turner Ashby High School, Madelyn has demonstrated a commitment to both academic excellence and community service.

During her time at VCU, Madelyn has been deeply engaged in meaningful initiatives. As a Missions of Mercy (MOM) Coordinator, she has organized and managed free dental care projects for underserved communities. She has also presented her research on dental techniques and biomaterials at national conferences, earning the Most Outstanding Presentation award at the 2024 Hinman Research Symposium. Additionally, Madelyn serves as the president of the American Academy of Public Health Dentistry at VCU, where she leads efforts to organize events and fundraisers that promote student involvement in public health dentistry.

In her free time, Madelyn loves baking sweet treats and cherishing moments with her friends and family. As a former NCAA Division II volleyball player at UVA-Wise, she now continues her passion for the sport by competing on VCU's Women’s Club Volleyball Team.

Madelyn's passion for dentistry and her drive to make a difference in her community reflect her belief in the transformative power of a healthy smile.
